What’s Inside Your Box?

Your Craftiosity kit comes with everything you need to make your lantern shine:

  • Tissue paper for that soft, colourful glow

  • Embellishments including dried flowers, skeleton leaves, and sparkling gold stars

  • Sparkly string for threading your design

  • LED tea light to safely light up your lantern

  • Pre-punched sticky paper and clear plastic sheets

  • Four bamboo sticks to give your lantern structure

Step 1: Designing Your Leaves

Start by peeling the backing off your sticky paper—it’s super sticky, so take your time. Lay it flat and arrange your skeleton leaves and flower petals. The fun part? You get to design it however you like! Add some glittery stars for that magical autumn sparkle.

Step 2: Layering and Assembling

Next, cover your design with the clear plastic sheets, making sure the pre-punched holes line up. Rub gently to secure all the elements. Repeat for all four sides of your lantern.

Step 3: Adding Tissue Paper

Cut your tissue paper to size using a ruler and pen. Don’t worry about tiny creases—they add character! Place the tissue paper over your designs and gently press down to keep everything in place.

Step 4: Binding Your Lantern

Now for the bamboo sticks and string. Split the string into four equal pieces and thread through the holes of your designs, wrapping around the bamboo sticks to hold your lantern together. Ask an adult for a helping hand with tricky knots—it’s part of the fun!

Step 5: Light It Up

Once all sides are secured, place your LED tea light inside and admire your handiwork. Voilà! Your very own autumn-inspired leaf lantern, ready to brighten your room with a cosy, handmade glow.

We can’t wait to see your creations! Share your finished lanterns with us and join the Craftiosity Kids community in celebrating creativity and the cosy magic of autumn.
