It's time to share the next craft kit (January 2022) - one that's sure to brighten up the winter days with a warm glow! You’ll be creating a constellation-inspired lampshade using the Broderie Anglaise embroidery method.
Broderie Anglaise is a beautiful embroidery technique you might recognise from clothing, originally made popular in the 19th century, where holes are created and stitched around to make designs and patterns (it's a lot simpler than it might look!).
We’re adapting it to this lamp as we love the way the holes let the light shine through.
You'll use the template and instructions provided to embroider star constellations onto your fabric (or you can adapt to include your own favourites!)
Then, using the materials provided, turn your fabric into a lampshade for an LED tealight (also inside your box).

- 2 Metal rings
- 2 Base discs
- Self-adhesive panel
- Tape
- Edging tool
- Blue cotton fabric
- Embroidery thread
- Embroidery hoop
- Sewing needle
- Constellations Template

You’ll also have your step-by-step photo instructions, video tutorial online and some creative inspiration for your pinboard!
Your finished lamp will be 10cm diameter x 12cm high and, with the LED tealight included, is perfect to add a little gentle light to your mantlepiece or desk on these quieter, darker evenings.
