We're looking for a talented Freelance Craft Designer, Maker & Content Creator to join the Craftiosity team and help us create our monthly craft kits.

About Craftiosity

Craftiosity is a UK monthly craft subscription box helping people discover new creative hobbies through thoughtfully designed craft kits delivered straight to their door.

Every box contains the tools and materials needed to complete a beautiful handmade project, alongside clear step-by-step instructions and an accompanying video tutorial.

We're passionate about making creativity accessible and encouraging people to try something new every month. Now, we're looking for someone who can help us bring even more brilliant craft ideas to life.

About the role

This is an ongoing freelance opportunity where you'll design and deliver one brand-new craft kit project each month.

Working closely with our Creative Director, Roxy, alongside Tom and Hazel, you'll take projects from the initial idea through to the finished tutorial.

You'll be responsible for developing creative, achievable and enjoyable projects that are suitable for Craftiosity's audience, including beginners.

We'll take care of sourcing the materials and components needed for your designs, so you can focus on the creative process.

What you'll do

Each month you'll:

• Design an original craft project to an agreed brief.
• Create and thoroughly test the project to make sure it's suitable for beginners.
• Produce a complete materials list so components can be sourced.
• Write clear, easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions.
• Photograph the finished project where required.
• Film a complete tutorial for our online video guide.
• Make any agreed revisions following feedback before the kit goes into production.

Working with us

This is a remote freelance role with flexible working hours outside of scheduled meetings.

You'll work closely with the Craftiosity team through:

• A weekly online meeting every Tuesday at 9:30am, lasting approximately 30 minutes.
• Two half-yearly planning sessions where we'll brainstorm and plan the next six months of projects using Pinterest boards, trend research and creative inspiration.
• Regular communication throughout the design and development process.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience across a wide variety of craft techniques.
• Can confidently develop original, beginner-friendly project ideas.
• Is highly creative and enjoys experimenting with different materials and techniques.
• Is organised and able to manage deadlines independently.
• Has excellent attention to detail.
• Is comfortable presenting on camera and filming tutorials.
• Can write clear, engaging instructions that are easy to follow.
• Enjoys problem-solving and refining projects through testing.
• Is reliable, collaborative and communicates well.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

Embroidery · Sewing · Paper crafts · Macramé · Needle felting · Jewellery making · Painting & mixed media · Printing techniques · Home décor · Seasonal & decorative crafts

You don't need to be an expert in every craft. We're looking for someone with a broad creative skillset who enjoys learning new techniques and turning fresh ideas into beautiful projects.

Project Deliverables

Each monthly project will involve:

• Project design and development
• Prototype creation and testing
• A complete materials list
• Written step-by-step instructions
• Photography where required
• Filming the project tutorial
• Any agreed revisions prior to production

Craftiosity will provide the project materials and components required for development.

As this is a remote role, you'll need:

• Your own filming equipment capable of producing clear, high-quality tutorial videos.
• A suitable workspace for creating and filming projects.
• Reliable internet access for online meetings and collaboration.

Location

The role is fully remote, although applicants based in the UK are preferred.
