In this project we’re sharing an exciting new process (and one we've been asked for a number of times) - marbling! (May 2021)
For this project, you’ll be adorning a marble design onto a modern candle holder - the perfect centrepiece for your dinner table or window ledge.

We love the contemporary and elegant look of marble in interior design and creating that marble-effect is a really satisfying process to play with!
With the wooden candle holder, you’ll add a base colour with white paint, then create whirling, swirling patterns using the marbling inks in a tray of water. The best thing about marbling is that the results are unique every single time, so no two candle holders will ever be the same.
The shades of blues and greys that the inks yield are reminiscent of swimming pools and oceans in Summer, putting us in the mood for warmer climes…
The kit has everything you’ll need to create your modern marble-effect candle holder. Your box includes:
- Wooden candle holder
- Plastic tray
- White paint
- Paintbrush
- 2 x Marbling Inks
- Disposable gloves (non-latex)
As ever, you’ll also have step-by-step photo instructions and a video tutorial online to make it easy to follow along.
One of the great things about this kit is that you can use the remaining ink from your tray to create beautifully printed papers that could be used in card-making and collaging.
