It's almost that delicious month of November, so we decide to bring a little autumnal magic and a little of the festive season to this month's craft kit!
If you've seen our recent moodboard, you’ll have noticed we’re taking inspiration from Gathering Together for this month's limited edition kit (posted mid-November 2019) - whether that's gathering leaves, or gathering your favourite people.
We're bring both together in this month's project - taking inspiration from our favourite winter leaves and berries to create 12 linocut printed greetings / Christmas cards to post to your favourite human beings.
Let’s walk you through the project...
Your kit includes 12 blank cards and envelopes (plenty to play with!), 2 linocut blocks, a lino cutting blade and handle, 3 different ink pads, a template and tracing paper. You'll just need a pencil and scissors.
You have one red and two green ink pads in your box so you can really vary up the colours, or use them together to create the lovely gradation effect like in the leaves below (we'll show you how).
We'll walk you step by step through copying the design onto the lino blocks, then how to cut the lino to create your own stamps and print the cards. The template is provided in the kit, or you can freestyle and make up designs of your own.
There are three different stamps in the project, so you can go to town playing with different layouts and patterns using one or multiple stamps on each card.
You'll only need 1 of the lino blocks for our designs, so there's plenty spare.
You also have full photo instructions (and a video tutorial below) so it's easy to follow along.
This is a great process to learn, and your stamps can be re-used to create your own giftwrap, tags or other decorations.
The kit will make 12 x A6 size greetings cards with envelopes also provided.
Here's the step by step video tutorial to walk you through.
