For our Air Dry Clay craft kit and tutorial, we made this little desk pot and matching bud pot with white clay and copper paint.
Clay is sooooo satisfying to work with, but most of us don’t have easy access to a kiln, which is where a good air dry clay comes in!
Having tested a number of air dry clay types, we found the DAS white clay lovely to work with. For this tutorial, we made the most of the clay itself - adding texture to the pots and sanding them to get a lovely soft finish, then decorating with a pretty copper paint.
This tutorial goes through all the steps to roll out your clay, cut, add texture to the pots, and sculpt into their final shapes, then to finish and paint the pots for use.
As well as the instructions in our kit (and soon to be available in our shop as a pdf download), you’ll find the video tutorial below:
I’d love to hear from you - how would you decorate your pot with texture and paint?
