Mindful Inspiration for Spring

by | 8 Apr, 2021 | Inspiration

The temperature’s fluctuating a lot at the moment, but we’re still enjoying the beginnings of Spring! It’s a season of change and new life, so it’s a perfect time to slow down, notice the space around you and enjoy the transformation in nature.

We’ve put together some of our tips to help you find some Mindful Inspiration this Spring, which can help boost your wellbeing and feed into your creative projects… Enjoy!

Spring Seed Sowing

Whether you have a garden, an allotment or simple window box, Spring is the time for seed sowing for a variety of vegetables and flowers!

There’s something beautiful and peaceful about watching a tiny seed flourish and slowly pop out from beneath the soil, watching it grow as it’s given the right care and attention.

Hot Cross Buns

It has to be said that ‘Hot Cross Bun’ season, a.k.a Spring, is one of our favourites.

We recommend giving homemade hot cross buns a go – they really aren’t as hard as you might think! Go traditional, or be adventurous and add flavours like chocolate and orange or apple and cinnamon. Yum!

Unplug and Wander

It’s very easy to get bogged down with work (especially when you’re working from home) or losing time scrolling away on your phone. Swap your phone and laptop for a book and a flask of tea and head out…

With Spring’s brighter, lighter days, unplug from technology and enjoy wandering through your local parks and noticing all the new life sprouting up from the earth and on the trees.

The birds are particularly vocal in spring so take a moment and simply sit and have a listen to the chorus (and a cup of tea!).

Spring Cleaning and Declutter

Spring is for fresh starts and this always inspires us to have a look at what we have and what we really need.

Sorting through unused craft materials or clothes can be a mindful process and relieve your space of clutter, which can have hugely positive effects on our wellbeing.

We love the Marie Kondo method of asking ‘Does this spark joy?’ as a guide for what stays and what goes.

Decluttering can also lead to giving new life or a new home to old stuff you’d forgotten about!
