We’re hoping April will be bringing us more Spring-like weather – but we can never be too sure these days, so our winter coats are staying put.
Looking forward to April, there’s a plethora of craft events, Easter bake ideas and the month’s book and film recommendation!

Our favourite Easter treat
We’re thinking about putting a spin on the classic
Mmmm… we just love the classic treat of hot crossed buns for Easter slathered in butter and with a good cup of tea on the side – there’s nothing better. We love them so much, we thought we’d try experimenting with some great flavour combos to bring changes to our beloved recipe.
Our fail-safe recipe is this one by BBC Good Food, but we’re thinking about our own variations…why not try earl grey and orange, cardamom and apricot or even apple and cinnamon? These bold and harmonious flavours are sure to be a success. Let us know how they go if you give any of these a try! Our mouths are watering…
Watch and read in April
New releases in film and a good book
A new Wes Anderson film and a good read on mindfulness
Hooray! Director Wes Anderson’s new film Isle of Dogs is released on the 30th March so it’s a great cinema choice for April. We love The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr Fox and Moonrise Kingdom, do you have any Wes favourites? Wes Anderson and dogs…what could be better?
And finally, our book recommendation this month is a non-fiction – it’s called ‘The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down’ by Haemin Sunim. It’s a lovely little book of mindfulness written by a Buddhist Monk. It stands out from other similar books because of its stunning colour illustrations within the pages. It’s a great book of inspiration and learning to slooooow down – an ethos we crafters can get on board with. It’s one to have out on your coffee table to revisit now and again when you feel the business of life getting on top of you. Highly recommend.
